Is there a free Facebook API for developers?
Meta's Graph API is free, but it covers your own Pages, ads and the users who log in to your app; reading other Pages' public data needs app review. For public data, SocialAPIs has a free plan: 200 calls a month, no credit card.
Meta's official option
The free official options: the Graph API for your own assets, the Ad Library API for political / issue and EU ads (identity confirmation required), and Meta Content Library for vetted researchers at qualifying institutions.
How to do it with SocialAPIs
Sign up with Google or email (there's a captcha), copy your API key, and call any endpoint with the x-api-token header. GET /usage shows what's left (Free to call). For example, a Page's details cost 1 credit.

Good to know
- The free calls come back every month.
- When you need more: Pro is $4.99 a month for 1,500 calls, with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
- Instagram is covered by the same key and the same free calls.
