How can Claude access Facebook or Instagram data?
Connect Claude to the SocialAPIs MCP server: in Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http socialapis https://mcp.socialapis.io/mcp with your key in an Authorization: Bearer header; in Claude Desktop, add the @socialapis/mcp package to its config. Claude can then read public Facebook Pages, groups, posts, ads, Marketplace listings and Instagram profiles when you ask.
Meta's official option
Claude has no built-in Facebook or Instagram access, and Meta's APIs only cover your own accounts (plus political / issue and EU ads in the Ad Library).
How to do it with SocialAPIs
Then ask in plain words: "What ads is KURU Footwear running right now, and what hooks do they use?" calls facebook_ads; "What are people asking about in this group this week?" calls facebook_group. Each call uses the credits of the endpoint behind it.
For Claude Code there's also an agent skill that tells it which endpoint fits a task: npx skills add SocialAPIsHub/skills.

Good to know
- Your key stays in your own client config; Claude sees the results, not the key.
- Claude Desktop needs Node.js 18+ for the npx package; restart it after editing the config.
- Public data only: Claude can't log in to Facebook or read private groups through it.
